Our journey through Dubai was an extraordinary experience, all arranged through Tratoli. Victor, our proficient tour guide and driver, extended the warmest of welcomes, ensuring we were safe and delighted throughout. Our adventure kicked off with an exhilarating sand dunes drive that was filled with laughter, shedding any initial trepidation. A gentle camel ride followed, offering unexpectedly cool breezes despite the desert's heat. Next, we tackled the sand dunes on quad bikes, with each twist and turn adding to the thrill, simulating flight as we soared down dune cliffs. Sandboarding was also part of our trip, and although the details will remain a secret shared with the sands of Dubai, it was an unforgettable experience. This outdoors segment wonderfully set the pace for our seven-day escapade. Kudos to Victor for infusing our trip with safe thrills and endless enjoyment. My friend and I eagerly anticipated our getaway booked through Tratoli, but the experience fell short of our expectations and left us feeling uneasy. Upon arrival at the camp, following the thrilling 4x4 ride, I suffered from a bout of illness. Gratefully, the staff promptly arranged an air-conditioned room for my comfort. This thoughtful gesture was the highlight of our stay. Regrettably, this was the sole positive moment, as the staff subsequently perceived us as vulnerable targets for manipulation. Attempts to cajole money from us became frequent because we hailed from London. Staff members employed tactics that made it clear they considered us easy marks, subtly signaling each other whenever one of them managed to extract cash from us. It's crucial for travelers, particularly young women journeying solo, to be alert and not fall prey to such schemes. Given the uncomfortable circumstances, we abstained from sampling the camp's cuisine, and therefore, I can't comment on its quality. The entertainment, however, featuring spirited dancing, was a genuine delight. Despite this, the overall discomforting environment has led us to decide against a return visit. My aim is to raise awareness among potential visitors—stay cautious and informed when embarking on adventures, especially when in unfamiliar territories.
