Our recent experience with Tratoli for a VIP Private Dubai Tour, which included entry to the Dubai Mall Aquarium and access to Burj Khalifa's 124/125 floors, was highly disappointing. We arrived early for the arranged 9 AM pickup, but when no one had arrived by 9:30 AM, attempts to contact the tour operator provided by Tratoli were unsuccessful. It became apparent that the local tour company, MyHolidayAdventures, did not open until 10 AM, forcing us to wait an hour before we could even try to communicate with someone. Persistent efforts to reach the operator at 10 AM, with help from hotel reception, proved futile. I've attached photos to this review illustrating our unsuccessful attempts to get through by phone and the website's live chat. Eventually, at around 10:40 AM, I made contact with Viator – the company through which we actually made the booking – and the response was less than empathetic, showing little concern for the letdown my wife, daughter, and I faced, which soured what was meant to be the highlight of our vacation. I've requested a refund which is currently being reviewed. However, the calls to Viator have cost me £81. To prevent further disappointment, we paid an additional £680 for a similar excursion through a local operator. We now hope that Viator, in association with Tripadvisor, will demonstrate integrity by reimbursing us for the missed tour and offering compensation towards the costly phone bill incurred during this distressing ordeal. For those planning such excursions, my advice—based on this difficult lesson—is to book in person at the destination. It ensures the same price and direct interactions with the service providers.
