A more scenic option is to take the Star Ferry from Central, then walk about 15 minutes.Chungking Mansions can be visited at any time. If you are not staying here, then you are probably coming here to shop, eat, or just check out the vibe. It’s best to visit during the day. Nature lovers can join a hiking or biking tour, or look for pink dolphins on a boat cruise.For the best value, book a Hong Kong Travel Pass Combo, which includes airport transfers and an MTR Pass, or a multi-day attraction pass, good at more than a dozen attractions in Hong Kong and Macau.<ul><li>Ngong Ping 360 is very popular; it’s worth booking ahead to skip the lines.</li><li>Wear comfortable, sturdy shoes to do any of the area hikes or to walk up to the Big Buddha, as there are 268 steps to the top.</li><li>Remember to bring a hat, sunscreen, and water, as the area can get hot and humid.</li></ul>Tung Chung is located on Lantau Island. Take the MTR to Tung Chung Station. A number of buses also stop at Tung Chung, including Nos. S1, 3M, 11, 21, 23, 38, 31, 33, 42, 56 and 64. A more scenic option is to take the ferry from Central to Mui Wo, and then bus No. 3 or a taxi to Tung Chung.For shopping, Citygate Outlets is open from 10am to 10pm. Ngong Ping 360 and the Big Buddha are very popular, and can get very crowded, especially on weekends and public holidays. With the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, it’s best to avoid Tung Chung during Chinese holidays, especially the May and October national holidays.Opened in 2018, this is the longest sea bridge in the world, connecting the cities of Hong Kong, Macau, and Zhuhai. The 34-mile (55-kilometer) bridge includes a Hong Kong Link Road, a main bridge, a tunnel, and a Zhuhai Link Road. Private cars require a special permit, but tour buses provide an easy way to cross the span.

The office towers are home to a few consulates, including the consulates for Angola, Brunei, Mongolia, and Taiwan. The retail podium contains shops and a number of restaurants.It’s easy view or visit Lippo Centre independently. Walking tours covering Central and Admiralty also have views of the building, and tram tours pass by a number of key attractions on Hong Kong Island.<ul><li>To access floors above the retail podium, visitors will have to show ID and undergo a security check.</li><li>Lippo Centre can be accessed at street level and via the elevated walkway.</li><li>Good views of Lippo Centre can be had from all angles; for unobstructed views, head to Hong Kong Park.</li></ul>Lippo Centre is located on Queensway, in Admiralty. Take the MTR to Admiralty (exit B) and walk west or to Central (exit J2) and walk east. By bus, take line 37, 43X, 70, 75, 90, 97, 590A, 680, or 930. Or take the tram to the Cotton Tree Drive stop.The exterior of the Lippo Centre can be viewed at any time. Different offices and retail shops and restaurants have different opening hours, so it’s best to check ahead before planning a visit.Lippo Centre is connected to the Admiralty portion of the Central Elevated Skywalk, an extensive covered, elevated footbridge network that spans a large number of buildings in Central, Sheung Wan, and Admiralty. In Admiralty, it reaches north to the Central District Promenade and the LegCo Complex, east to Citic Tower, south to Hong Kong Park and Pacific Place, and west to AIA Central and the Cheung Kong Building.

On Sundays and holidays, Hong Kong residents head to the island for family outings, so expect the ferry and the hiking trails to be crowded.Lamma’s main town, Yung Shue Wan, is known for its hippie vibe, craft shops, eclectic eateries, and Tin Hau Temple, while much smaller Sok Kwu Wan attracts with its waterfront seafood restaurants. Floating in the harbor is Lamma Fisherfolk’s Village, an outdoor museum highlighting the area’s fishing history and heritage. If you’re staying over on the Kowloon side of the city but still want to take the tram, take the MTR to one of the stations in those neighborhoods and hop on from there.The time of first and last trams depends on the route, but Hong Kong Tramways generally run from 5am to 12:30am. Check the tramways website for the most up-to-date schedules. Try to avoid taking the trams during weekday rush hours, between 7am and 9am and between 5pm and 7pm, when they can become crowded with commuters.The trams provide easy access to a wealth of Hong Kong attractions suitable for every type of traveler. Hop off at Victoria Park if you want to escape the bustle of the city; disembark in Wan Chai to follow a heritage trail that leads past historical buildings such as Blue House and Wan Chai Market; or immerse yourself in the bustle of Causeway Bay for high-end shops and modern Chinese restaurants, including the Michelin-star dim sum restaurant Lei Garden.

It’s a great way to escape Hong Kong’s concrete jungle and see stunning views of Shek O beach, Tai Long Wan (or Big Wave Bay), Tai Tam Bay, Stanley Peninsula, and the South China Sea.Dragon’s Back is one of the most popular hikes in Hong Kong, with a difficulty level ranging from easy to moderately challenging. At 5 miles (8 kilometers) long, it forms the eighth and final stage of the Hong Kong Trail.With straightforward access and a well-marked trail, Dragon’s Back is easy to navigate independently. Those who prefer to hike with company and who wish learn more about the trail and hiking in Hong Kong can go on a guided hike.<ul><li>Stock up on supplies in Shau Kei Wan before starting the hike, as there are no ways to restock on the trail.</li><li>A scenic spot overlooks Shek O beach to the east and Dragon’s Back to the northwest.</li><li>Shek O Peak, at 932 feet (284 meters), is the highest point of the trail and a good spot to enjoy views of Shek O and Tai Long Wan.</li><li>Many people choose to hike all the way to Big Wave Bay beach, but you can also catch a minibus for part of the last portion of the hike.</li></ul>Take the Island line MTR to Shau Kei Wan Station. Take Exit A to Shau Kei Wan Bus Terminus and bus no. 9 to To Tei Wan entrance on Shek O Road. You can also take the Shek O minibus next to the bus terminus. Look for the well-marked trailhead next to To Tei Wan village.Although it’s possible to hike the Dragon’s Back trail year-round, the Hong Kong summer heat and humidity can be overwhelming for some people. It’s best to start earlier in the morning before it gets too hot and crowded. This is a popular hike, especially on weekends.Those with more time looking to do a longer hike can choose additional portions, or the entirety, of the Hong Kong Trail, which is 31 miles (50 kilometers) long, from the peak to Big Wave Bay. Other trails to consider include the 62-mile (100-kilometer) MacLehose Trail, the 48-mile (78-kilometer) Wilson Trail, and the 43-mile (70-kilometer) Lantau Trail.
