Tim's meticulous planning ensured our day unfolded smoothly, beginning with a delectable cheese platter at the first winery — a perfect foundation for the tastings to come. The assortment of cheeses, olives, and crackers was a feast for the senses. When lunchtime arrived at the next winery, Tim had everything arranged. We simply ticked our choices on a form, and what ensued was a meal to remember, featuring the most exquisite Barramundi paired with excellent wine and company. As the tour continued, each winery brought its unique charm, from the enchanting atmosphere at our third stop to the delightful encounter with Frank, our jovial wine server, at the fourth. The day concluded with a visit to the Margaret River chocolate shop, after which we contentedly dozed off on the homeward journey. Marvel at the Pinnacles' majestic sandy beauty, the vibrant hues of canola fields, and the serene New Norcia Monastery to beautifully conclude the day. The adventure continued as Peter graciously accompanied me to Fremantle for a day of improvisation and discovery. We sought out the local kangaroos on Heirisson Island – success brought an elated "happy dance." A visit to Fremantle Harbour is not complete without stopping by Cicerello's, and paying respect to the legendary Bon Scott is a must. Our journey included a leisurely drive and stroll along the river, capped off with a savory meal at LoQuay River café. Don't miss the stunning vantage point from Blackwall Beach or the enthralling trek to the waterfall. Onward to the airport, a swift descent down the switchbacks provided the perfect end to my time in Perth. Booked through Tratoli, our excursion to the aquarium, albeit located a distance from the bustling city center, proved to be a journey worth taking. Upon arrival, we navigated the somewhat crowded parking situation near the entrance, with additional spots available slightly farther afield. Regrettably, the intriguing glass boat ride excluded our youngest as children under four years of age were not permitted, prompting us to pass on the opportunity. This aquarium captivated us with its diverse aquatic displays, particularly the tanks meticulously curated to showcase fish indigenous to various Australian habitats. A highlight was the immersive shark exhibit, featuring a moving walkway from which we watched in awe as sharks, rays, and turtles gracefully glided over us — a sight made even more dramatic by the glass-bottom boats that visitors can experience sailing above. Although we were enchanted by the sea dragon exhibit, its location on the stairwell was not pram-friendly, a notable drawback for visitors with small children. Navigating the premises was convenient, with a shortcut leading directly to the souvenir shop, exit, and an inviting café that opened up to an outdoor space. The interactive touch pool and the spellbinding coral reef showcase left us mesmerized. Close by, a lively play area beside the marina offered additional entertainment.
