Booking my travel experience through Tratoli, I had high expectations for the trip. Unfortunately, I encountered several issues during my journey that didn't meet those expectations. Despite confirming my reservation, Tratoli did not provide me with a comprehensive itinerary; I only received the initial voucher from TripAdvisor. When I attempted to clarify details such as the room type via WhatsApp, the communication was disappointingly terse and unhelpful, often only receiving one-word responses like "OK" that left my questions unanswered. This lack of clear communication left me concerned about the reliability of the pickup service; thankfully someone did arrive at our hotel as scheduled. The transport provided was a minivan which we shared with five other guests. Along with the driver and a cook, who joined us from Nairobi and remained for the entire trip, our group totaled nine people. Although the other passengers turned out to be great company, the driver, Moris, was less engaging. He seemed uninterested in his role as a guide, rarely offering insight or stopping for us to observe wildlife unless prompted. It was also a struggle for seven adults to comfortably view the savanna from the top of the van—a vehicle better suited for a maximum of six guests. Regarding accommodation, Tratoli selected options that were conspicuously budget-conscious, which likely explained the constant presence of our own cook. Despite his impressive skills, the cook had to work with limited resources. Had we known about the modest lodging in advance, we would have preferred the option to upgrade for additional comfort. Travel logistics were further complicated when we had to detour near Nairobi to drop off some passengers before continuing to our next destination, Lake Nakuru. This added considerably to our travel time. In light of these experiences, I do not plan to book with this travel agency again. Their service did not align with the quality and seamless experience I anticipated when I initially planned my trip.
