Our first leg of the journey took us to the breathtaking Ngorongoro Conservation Area, followed by a scenic drive to Lake Ndutu. Despite a lengthy travel day, the delights awaiting at the lake—such as majestic giraffes in combat, flocks of flamingos painting the waters pink, and new-born wildebeest and zebra foals—were truly unforgettable. An overnight stay at the Lake Ndutu Luxury Tented Camp enhanced the safari experience, offering wilderness immersion, hospitable staff, and a commendable standard of comfort. The ensuing day was marked by another exploratory loop around the lake, where the awe-inspiring sight of mating lions unfolded before we ventured towards the acclaimed Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti did not disappoint, inundating me with a plethora of wildlife encounters, including seeing nearly all the animals that populate my dreams. Thanks to my knowledgeable driver, who coordinated with other drivers, I was treated to thrilling wildlife sightings, most notably an encounter with a trio of cheetah brothers. Accommodation during two nights in the Serengeti at the welcoming Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp was delightful. The staff there truly understand how to satisfy their guests, coupling good food with practical tents and personalized care— a comfort especially appreciated by a solo traveler. Though the last day permitted only a brief tour, it was replete with remarkable sights—including a nursing hyena with her cubs, contentious hippos, and a swift cheetah—before embarking on the 7-hour return journey to Arusha.
