We had one of the best family vacations of our lives, a splendid 16-day adventure across Albania's stunning landscapes. The experience was impeccably curated by Mr. Julian through Tratoli, who not only catered to our wishes but exceeded them with a fantastic price that added to our delight. Our affection for each destination grew day by day as we visited a multitude of charming cities – from the bustling streets of Tirana to the historic avenues of Shkodër, the quaint corners of Korce, the castle town of Krujë, the stone-laden paths of Gjirokaster, the scenic beauty of Berat, the coastal charm of Sarandë, and even enjoyed a pastoral retreat at Farma Sotira in Leskovik. It was a joy to explore Albania's diverse tapestry of mountains, seas, lakes, and rivers, each unfolding unforgettable memories and awe-inspiring vistas. Our journey was made all the more special thanks to our amazing driver Kostjan, whose local insights and congenial company added depth to our exploration. I had a delightful travel experience after booking through Tratoli, complete with a fantastic driver who, although not well-versed in English, considerately picked fresh grapes and red berries for us to enjoy. The hiking excursion was occasionally challenging, yet thoroughly enjoyable and an adventure worth undertaking. For fellow explorers venturing into the caves, I recommend bringing a lamp and helmet for added safety and ease, which are available from the restaurant where lunch is provided. While the caves were a marvel, they can be slippery, so caution is advised. Accompanying me was an amiable guide, whose company was appreciated, even though I would have preferred a more in-depth explanation of the sites. A brief historical context of the caves and each stop would have significantly enhanced the experience. One unexpected issue arose when a local protest prevented the travel service from dropping me back at my hostel, making the post-hike journey back somewhat taxing. Nevertheless, the overall adventure captured my fancy, and I wouldn't hesitate to embark on it again.
