Our guide Darius was not only communicative, ensuring he arrived punctually, but he also had a vibrant and engaging personality that added joy to our adventure. His positive energy was contagious, and there was an abundance of laughter throughout the journey, which helped me relax and enjoy each moment. The highlight of the tour was the boat adventure in Kibuye, lasting approximately three hours, where we explored five distinct islands. We encountered the extraordinary sight of fruit bats and swimming cows and savored freshly picked macadamia nuts—a truly remarkable experience! Afterward, Darius and I indulged in a delightful lunch by the lakeside, which further enhanced our day before we continued to Gisenyi to explore the city. This travel adventure is a 10 out of 10 and comes highly recommended for both group excursions and those venturing solo who seek to discover the wonders of Kibuye and Gisenyi with a top-notch guide.

My experience exploring the city was truly remarkable, offering a profound insight into the local lifestyle and vibrant culture. Thanks to Tratoli, my travel package provider, this excursion was seamlessly organized. Honorio, my knowledgeable tour guide, was exceptionally welcoming and went above and beyond to ensure my trip was enjoyable. Located a four-hour drive from Kigali, the city is well worth the journey, though I recommend an overnight stay in one of the many local hotels to fully savor the experience. The journey from Kigali to Gisenyi presents breathtaking vistas — some of the most spectacular scenery I've encountered in all my travels. Those with a fear of heights, take note — the views are astonishing, but they might test your nerves!

My personal favorites include the village walk, the picturesque stroll, and the serene boat tour on Lake Ruhondo. Likewise, guests I've brought along highly praised the Bisoke hike.
