My excursion to the Kinunu Coffee Washing Station was meticulously organized by Tratoli, providing an electrifying adventure into the world of coffee. The journey commenced with a timely pickup by boat from our Kigufi/Gisenyi lodge, leading to a serene trip to Kinunu. The guided tour there was nothing short of fascinating; it was educational and immersive as we delved into the entire coffee production process, examining each step from the initial berry harvesting to the final coffee cup preparation. The hands-on experience allowed us to pick coffee cherries, dry the beans, and even roast and grind our 'own' coffee, which was an enlightening journey through coffee-making. Following the insightful tour, we enjoyed a delectable lunch at the nearby Rushel Lodge, adding to the overall delightful experience. This wasn't my first adventure with Beyond the Gorillas Experience, and based on the exceptional service and genuine understanding of our preferences provided by founder & MD Theodore, it most definitely won't be my last.

Embarking on a journey to celebrate my 60th birthday, I never anticipated such a phenomenal adventure as the one facilitated by Tratoli. Trekking through Volcanoes National Park to engage with an extraordinary gorilla family was nothing short of surreal and emotionally charged; I was completely awestruck by their majesty, power, and beauty. The experience was expertly crafted by Katona Tours, particularly Jacqueline, who ensured seamless communication and tailored the tour to perfectly suit our needs. From the commencement of our expedition with a pickup service in Kigali to our scenic road travels and the cozy lodge accommodations, every detail was meticulously managed. The guidance and acumen provided by Kenneth, our guide, was invaluable. With his extensive knowledge of the area's history, culture, and geography, he instilled in our trio a profound appreciation for the enchanting landscapes we were immersed in. At the lodge, the hospitality was remarkable, allowing us to immerse ourselves entirely in the experiences we set out for. The trekking itself, led by the adept Dr. G, was not only secure but surprisingly enjoyable. His instructions on proper respect and protocols for sharing the gorillas' habitat made us feel deeply integrated into their world for a day. I extend my deepest gratitude to Katona Tours and Travel for orchestrating this monumental and impeccably planned gorilla trekking experience. It was, without a doubt, a memorable way to mark my 60th year.

Enjoying an exquisite day trekking through the picturesque hills encircling Gisenyi, Honorio served as my guide, leading me on an immersive journey past quaint villages. His expertise deepened my understanding of the resident lifestyle, enriching the experience with tales from his own upbringing. The adventure culminated with a sumptuous local culinary feast. Eager for my next visit, I have my sights set on Honorio's famed Nile trail hike – a gem among the excursions arranged by Tratoli.

I recently experienced a delightful day trip, meticulously organized by Tratoli, which included a visit to the Musanze Caves followed by a picturesque stroll through the foothills of Volcanoes National Park. From beginning to end, the excursion exuded efficiency and enjoyment. The staff were accommodating and a joy to interact with, adding to the overall success of the journey. Our guides, Simon and Fernando, were nothing short of exceptional, ensuring that the cave exploration and walking tour were memorable adventures. Along the walk, the expansive scenery featuring the majestic volcanoes was breathtaking, coupled with a fascinating immersion into the local wildlife and ecological insights. The cultural enrichment continued as we encountered nearby farms and village life, providing a unique glimpse into the daily routines of the residents. The day culminated in a relaxing moment at a beer garden nestled at the base of Mt. Bisoke, where we savored a refreshing beer and satisfying local cuisine. For anyone interested in exploring the grandeur of this region without committing to a Gorilla or Monkey trek or summiting a volcano, this day trip stands out as a superb alternative.
