In September, we took a tour that we arranged through Tratoli, and it turned out to be a delightful experience. Our English-speaking guide was an energetic, engaging individual who shared fascinating insights about Turkey throughout our journey, making it both educational and entertaining. The buses provided for the tour were comfortable, with air conditioning that functioned perfectly, and we had the convenience of purchasing cold drinks. A special thanks to our driver for his smooth driving skills; the three-hour trip flew by without a hint of fatigue. The sights themselves were of breathtaking beauty. The pristine white cascades and turquoise waters of Pamukkale were simply indescribable. We were incredibly fortunate to witness this stunning natural wonder, especially when in 2020 there were surprisingly few other visitors. The only downside of our trip was our Russian-speaking guide Nasira, who was remarkably subpar—quite possibly the worst I've encountered in all my travels. After Nasira failed to accompany us, we ultimately joined an English-speaking guide for the tour of Hierapolis. Over the course of 11 hours, Nasira spoke for a mere 6 minutes, despite half of the bus passengers being Russian-speaking. In my view, a better solution would have been to provide recorded Russian commentary for everyone to listen to. Reluctantly, I have to deduct a star for the performance of the Russian-speaking guide despite the overall wonderful experience.
