Despite the intensity, the hospitality of AB Expeditions was first-class—morning infusions of coca tea delivered to our tents and exemplary culinary delights prepared by the talented Charlie, who managed to delight us with an impromptu birthday cake at high altitude. The support from the compassionate horsemen, ensuring our camping gear awaited us at each new site, was invaluable. Braving the trails, well above 15,000 feet, in frigid conditions and amidst daily snowfall made for a demanding yet profoundly rewarding experience. This trek revealed some of the most astonishing vistas I've ever witnessed—a testament to the natural grandeur Peru offers to the intrepid explorer.

Opting to start early provided a serene and less crowded adventure. Adding to the experience, I took the opportunity to hire a horse for 70 Soles, which was a wise choice that saved my energy for the breathtaking optional excursion to the Red Valley, especially after the previous day's Humantay Lake tour. The view from the top was absolutely incredible, making every moment of the trek memorable. The only downside to the trip was the bus ride. Despite my anticipation of a restful journey, the ride was too bumpy to allow any sleep, a disturbance that seemed to persist despite the well-maintained roads. This is something to consider for future improvements to ensure comfort throughout the entire travel experience. Nonetheless, booking this travel package through Tratoli was a decision I would gladly make again for the astonishing sights and the seamless access to these splendid locations.
