Joining the melukat respectfully

Visitors may enter the purification pool: sarong on, small offering, then move fountain to fountain left to right — skipping the two reserved for funerary rites. Go early and it's a moving, unhurried ritual among locals rather than a queue. Changing rooms and sarong hire are at the entrance.

Good to know

  • Bring a change of clothes and a dry bag for the ritual.
  • The spring pool where the water rises is behind the bathing courtyard — don't miss it.
