Three weeks before our anticipated adventure, we secured our travel package through Tratoli and were eager for the experience. However, the necessity of reaching out to Michael for confirmation and pick-up information for the scooters put a slight damper on our excitement as no details were proactively provided. Upon arrival, we discovered other travelers in the same situation, some of whom were informed at short notice that the duration of the trip was halved from two and a half hours to just one hour – a change we were not notified of beforehand. Michael arrived 15 minutes behind schedule, evidently taken aback by our presence, and embarked on a series of untruths. He contended the weather was too frigid for the tour, despite it being a comfortable 8 degrees, and more bizarrely, he was willing to take the other group under these same conditions. His story shifted from personal illness to uncharged scooters, even suggesting an unrealistic alternative for us, a group of nearly 60-year-old women, to follow scooters on a bicycle. Offering us the option to return the next day, which promised even cooler weather, was yet another inconsistency. It became clear that our booking was likely overlooked and the scooters were not prepared, but instead of admitting to the oversight, Michael chose to weave a web of deception. This shocking behavior was not only unprofessional but also deeply disappointing.

Embarking on a journey with Tratoli, we discovered a phenomenal tour experience. The grandeur of Ksiaz Castle is truly breathtaking, seamlessly embodying centuries of history from its ancient foundations to the tumultuous time of Nazi occupation. Within its walls, the Maksymilian Hall astonishes visitors, and we had the serendipity of savoring its splendor undisturbed, an unforgettable moment of solitude amidst grandeur. Delving into the depths of history, Project Riese serves as an enlightening yet chilling educational site. Navigating the network of tunnels was a riveting experience, and I'd suggest bringing along a flashlight to enhance your exploration. Surprisingly, the fare provided at Project Riese offered both delightful flavors and admirable affordability. A special commendation is reserved for our guide, Michal, whose unparalleled expertise, infectious enthusiasm, and warm cordiality made our journey both informative and immensely enjoyable. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Michal for enriching our tour and to Tratoli for curating such a memorable and enlightening historical adventure.
