Although initially booked for four days, unforeseen circumstances owing to food poisoning necessitated a shortened three-day itinerary. Despite my initial reservations about traveling solo instead of within a group, the experience proved to be extraordinary. Eschewing the ebullient throngs of youthful motorcyclists, I relished the serenity and measured tempo of our more petite assembly. As a 56-year-old woman new to motorcycling, I found immense comfort in the care my driver, Zin, expressed. His considerate driving - mindful of bumps and turns - and the additional cushioned seat he provided, distinguished him from others, sparing me the discomfort lamented by fellow riders. The unique advantages of a solo journey were manifest when Zin introduced me to his family and village; a personally enriching detour that showcased the hospitality and rich culture of Vietnam.
