Our experience with the travel package from Tratoli began promisingly with punctual drivers and skippers, ensuring a smooth start to the journey. The initial waterfall encounter was picturesque, although it didn't quite hit the mark of being awe-inspiring, being of a modest size rather than a towering spectacle. The island itself presented a serene beauty, yet it wasn't notably more exceptional than some of the beaches on the main island we'd encountered. On a positive note, the beachside dining experience was delightful, with the local staff going above and beyond to provide excellent service and scrumptious food. However, our expectations of an exclusive private tour were tempered when, after midday, our solitude was interrupted by the addition of another couple, which was an unwelcome surprise, considering we had paid a premium for privacy. As the day progressed, the island became increasingly crowded, surpassing the number of visitors we would typically see at any beach on the main island. On arrival around 9:30 AM, we were immediately greeted by a "guide" who seemed more interested in selling us various sport activities than providing genuine guidance—activities that we could have easily arranged on the main island, some even included with our resort stay. The snorkeling experience was somewhat misleading. Although snorkeling gear was offered at the beginning of the tour, there was no follow-up or dedicated time for snorkeling itself. The local guide on Ile aux Cerfs even suggested that we'd only see "sand" while snorkeling, but that a payable snorkel tour was available if we were interested. This was contrary to our expectations of the snorkeling experience. Finally, the booking process seemed to overlook the needs of families, as there was no option to include children, nor was there any proactive communication regarding their transfer arrangements. In summary, although the tour was not a complete disaster, a half-day excursion would have sufficed for our personal taste. Based on our experience, we would hesitate to recommend this particular package in its current form.

The one minor drawback I would suggest is to frame the food experience not as a "gastronomic discovery," but rather as an exploration of authentic Mauritian delicacies.
