Despite finding the trip challenging, I am pleased that I embarked on this adventure along with my 16-year-old teen, who was equally keen on the experience.

I had an unfortunate experience with Tratoli, and I cannot recommend their service. Despite the allure of convenient travel packages, their customer service fell short, lacking empathy and essential understanding. Tratoli, which in this instance managed tours similar to those offered by Headout, seemed to prioritize their own scheduling needs over customer convenience. They altered the timing of tours without consideration, leaving customers with no real choice but to accept the changes or forfeit their plans without a refund. This inflexibility, coupled with a dismissive approach to customer options, created a disheartening illusion of customer choice. For future travelers, I would advise against booking additional attractions through Tratoli. There's a risk that your plans could be disrupted by significant schedule changes up to 4-5 hours earlier on the same day without the possibility of getting your money back. Tratoli appears to exercise their policies to their advantage, claiming the right to adjust bookings at their discretion. As a tip from my personal experience, it’s wiser to purchase tours directly from the official museum site to bypass the potential pitfalls of dealing with this seemingly unreliable intermediary.

Our experience with the Auschwitz tour, booked through Tratoli, fell short of expectations and was highly disappointing. Despite having an English-speaking guide, the heavy Polish accent, coupled with static-laden headsets, made comprehension a struggle. The pace felt unnecessarily hurried, which limited our ability to thoroughly absorb the exhibits and information captions. The oversized tour group further diminished the experience, as visibility of the historic site's numerous attractions was significantly obstructed. Ticket distribution was inefficient and consumed excessive time, which may have contributed to the rushed nature of the tour. Moreover, we weren't informed beforehand of the independent travel requirements from Auschwitz to Birkenau. Given the heat and our age—both of us being in our 70s—we had no alternative but to hire a taxi for 40 zloty, despite initial promises of assistance. The smaller group size en route to Birkenau made for a better experience, with clearer communication from the guide and a more inclusive approach. However, the lack of clear information regarding the need for separate transportation to Birkenau was a significant oversight. Had we known, we would have opted to use bicycles. Efforts to address this issue and suggest improvements to the tour operators through the guide were unfortunately dismissed. For future visitors, we strongly recommend verifying the logistics of the tour, including transportation arrangements and group sizes, to ensure a more informed and comfortable visit.
