I highly recommend a visit to anyone exploring the area. This safari was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that lived up to all our expectations, although catching a glimpse of a leopard or cheetah would have been the cherry on top.

A tuk-tuk ride then whisked us away to the colorful spice markets and Makadara Rd, a bustling hub in the Old Town lined with cafes, restaurants, and street food vendors. I relished the flavors of freshly squeezed sugarcane juice enhanced with mint, chili, and lemon, followed by a succulent chicken shawarma drenched in exquisite sauces. Shortly thereafter, we tasted barbecued makashki, its moisture and smoky essence thoroughly enchanting my palate. Makadara Rd emerged as a standout destination for authentic African cuisine, with the lauded Barka restaurant and Amorino Cafe and Restaurant as its culinary landmarks. Marwa's extensive knowledge of the city's heritage, the local culture, and the people—with whom she was warmly acquainted—elevated this food tour into an unforgettable journey.
