His presentation failed to engage us, and it was as if he was disinterested himself, particularly evident as the promised "45-minute dam top tour" was nonexistent. As we made our way from the bus stop to the power plant entrance, a brief 5-minute stroll, the guide provided no enlightening commentary about the dam, a disappointing omission. Upon reaching the power plant, we were merely given our tickets and our guide was nowhere to be seen next, leaving us to navigate the power plant tour, which was fortunately well-conducted by the dam staff, on our own. The time that was meant for exploring the dam turned into a period of unguided meandering, which was far from what was expected of an organized tour. The culinary experience did not redeem the situation either. The meal we were served was downright unappetizing; from the charred burger to the unappealing turkey and cheese on dry wheat toast, it was unanimously received with displeasure, eliciting mutual looks of disapproval at our table. Fortunately, the only redeeming aspect was the exceptional service we received. My advice to fellow travelers seeking a memorable and educational tour would be to consider options beyond this particular company. Look for a tour provider that offers both a knowledgeable guide that enhances the experience, and satisfactory dining options to round out the day, ensuring a tour experience worth remembering.
