Our day began with an early 6 am pickup from our hotel and concluded after 8 pm, making for a comprehensive tour, even though not every activity listed on the itinerary was covered. The driver, booked through Tratoli, was amiable and accommodating, and while he might not have been exceptionally talkative or fluent in English, he offered valuable glimpses into Saudi Arabian culture. The mountain excursion provided a refreshing change with its dry, cool evening air. Saudi tourism is still ironing out some aspects, such as environmental cleanliness, wildlife preservation, tourist appeal diversity, and pricing structures—particularly the significant cost increase for couples versus individuals, which seems disproportionate to the incurred expenses. Nonetheless, our experience was enriching, as it exposed us to sights that would have remained undiscovered on our own. Culinary highlights included a delectable Saudi meal for lunch and tantalizing falafels to round out the evening. The serene cable car ride and the informative rose distillery visit were memorable moments. Strolling through Taif's public garden added a pleasant touch, though better labeling of its diverse flora would enhance the visit. Overall, the tour was fulfilling and worth recommending.
