My travel experience with the Tratoli package was deeply disappointing. The itinerary promised breathtaking encounters with Lake Pehoe, boasting views of the iconic Hotel Pehoe, as well as an exploration of the majestic Grey Glacier. Unfortunately, our tour guide failed to deliver on these essential highlights, leaving us without the opportunity to witness these natural wonders.

Disappointing Trip with Tratoli - Missed Fitz Roy Mountain Views I recently booked a travel package with Tratoli, hoping for a memorable journey that would include the breathtaking Fitz Roy mountain, prominently visible from the road. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of my expectations as we failed to see the iconic landmark from any angle. The anticipation of enjoying the stunning scenery was dashed, making for a less than satisfactory trip.

We booked an unforgettable travel package with Tratoli, experiencing the magic of the glacial landscapes led by expert guide Moreno. The 'Todos Glaciares' and 'Chaltén' excursions were brilliantly coordinated, with drivers who demonstrated respect and punctuality throughout our journey. The attention to detail was remarkable, ensuring seamless transfers to and from the airport, all while adhering to the scheduled times flawlessly.

I booked an unforgettable travel package via Tratoli and was thoroughly impressed by many facets of the tour. Our guide, Nicolás, was remarkable in how he adeptly shared his knowledge about the region, encompassing its topography, history, and culture. Beyond his expertise, Nicolás displayed exceptional care and attentiveness to our group’s needs, making him stand out as a sensitive and devoted guide. Equally impressive was Alejandro, our driver, whose skill was indispensable during our journey across challenging terrain. As the snow melted, it left behind deep muddy patches on rural roads, which could have been a serious hurdle. But Alejandro navigated with such finesse that not only did we travel with ease, he even managed to rescue a stranded car from a muddy predicament, showcasing his superb driving prowess and a great sense of community. The tour, enhanced by breathtaking scenery, was truly memorable, but it was the commendable contributions of Nicolás and Alejandro that made the biggest impression on me. Their dedication and skill played a pivotal role in creating an experience that I will always cherish.

I didn't want to write this review, but after going back and forth for close to two months attempting unsuccessfully to get a full refund for my unsafe experience with this company, I feel compelled to warn others. let me start by saying that our guide and driver did the best they could to keep us safe under unsafe conditions that they were also forced into. but this tour should never been allowed to go out in the first place. we were told that the other tours earlier that week had been canceled due to weather, this was the first one to go out. it was the middle of winter and it was snowing heavily all day. we found out the next day from an airport employee that El Calafate airport had been closed the day of our tour for weather, which is very telling. on our first stop of the day a few hours into the drive, we got stuck after police told us that the road was closed. we should have turned back then, but we didn't - instead, we waited over an hour at the first stop before getting back on the road. on their tour description it said that their special vehicle cuts down on travel time to 4 hours. that is the only reason my group booked the travel. other tours showed 6-7 hours each way in the vehicle, leaving only a few hours in the park, which was not worth it to us. our travel time ended up being 6.5 hours (7:30 am pickup to 2 pm arrival in the park). once in the park we only had a few hours until the sun set with 4 stops, when the tour description showed 6 stops with a several hour hike (we got a 20 minute walk). we passed two vehicles in the park who were stuck in the snow, one at the beginning of the park that our guide helped, and one at the end of the day that we could not pass, which resulted in us having to go out of our way to exit a different border crossing further away, due to the original one we crossed closing. we were only given one meal (lunch) with one small bottle of water by the tour company and the tour ended up being 21.5 hours long. we were prepared and brought some extra additional food and water with us, but you can only bring so much when crossing an international border with regulations as to what food you can't bring across. we had to urinate outside twice due to bathrooms being closed along the way once the day got too late. we got stopped by police twice on the way back as well - once in the town after crossing back into Argentina around Puerto Natales, and told we couldn’t be on the road. I'm not sure how our guide convinced them to let us go, but he did. and then at the entrance back into El Calafate, we were stopped and told that the roads had been closed, and they wouldn't let us back into town. the Southroad owner had to come at 3 am and talk to them so that we could be let inside. the whole time we were driving back in the middle of the night, it was snowing hard. our guide and driver had both been awake and working far too long to be driving safely. there weren't temperature regulations in the bus either, so it was freezing the entire time, which didn't help the stress of the situation. we got back to our house at 4 am and had to leave for the airport at 6 am. I understand that things happen outside of everyone's control, including weather. but again, this tour should never have been allowed to go out. you can make it right by giving us our money back, or even giving us a simple apology for our trouble, which we have never gotten. on the bright side, my stomach was upset for weeks after this, so that was a nice little treat. to be transparent, after ignoring mine and my travel partner's emails for a week, I went through Tripadvisor to request a refund. at that time, Southroad gave us half back, also replying through Tripadvisor (never to us personally despite multiple direct emails) stating untruths such as "there were about 6 vehicles that we helped" (there were two) as a reason why the day turned out the way it did. I am not disputing that we got a Temu version of the tour. I am sure that on a blue sky day, the tour would have been fine. but part of being a reliable company is knowing when to cancel for safety, even if it results in you not making money - not throwing people into an unsafe situation for money. we did get a very unsafe tour, that again, should not have been permitted to go out. be wary when booking. I shudder to think what would have happened if someone had had a medical emergency.
