Ace provided an impressive service for our vacation booked through Tratoli, handling everything from the initial contact and trip customization to secure payments and arranging seamless airport transfers. They excelled in organizing our accommodations in Kathmandu and, most importantly, in pairing us with our knowledgeable guide Nimesh and the dedicated porter Birkaji. Nimesh excelled at unveiling the Himalayan region's rich history, culture, and local lifestyle. His engaging evening sessions equipped us with everything we needed to know for the upcoming day's trek, ensuring we were well-prepared and inspired. Each day's hike was a challenge we felt ready to tackle without being hurried. For travelers reaching Everest Base Camp, I suggest not missing the early morning ascent to Kala Patthar. Despite being the most strenuous part of our journey, the reward of witnessing a Himalayan sunrise is indelible. However, there is room for Ace to better their services. The quality of tea houses during our trek, from Lukla to Dingboche, often left us in older and less maintained accommodations compared to others, except possibly in Namche, despite minor issues like lacking power outlets and sanitary problems. This raised questions about the frequency of management's visits to these establishments for quality checks. Post-trek, we discussed our concerns regarding the lodging with Sujan, but his response was lacking. Contrary to his views, our own observations revealed several tea houses to be superior in quality and comfort, with some offering better rooms at marginal additional costs. It's necessary to have comprehensive travel insurance, one that includes helicopter evacuation in the event of frequent flight cancellations from Lukla. Although we expressed willingness to fund a helicopter return to Kathmandu with Ace, they couldn't secure a flight for us. Instead, we managed to depart with the help of Heli Everest through other trekkers. Notably, should you opt for a helicopter evacuation, Ace may not refund your original ticket fare. In sum, the expert guidance and well-organized aspects of our trip through Tratoli were commendable, with a few areas suggested for Ace's improvement, mainly around accommodation quality and customer service responsiveness regarding contingencies.
