Booking my travel package through Tratoli, I appreciated the roominess of the car; however, cleanliness was an issue as it appeared unattended to from the previous journey. Additionally, punctuality was a concern since our expedition kicked off behind schedule. Despite initial assertions that the pick-up spot was fixed, there was a moment of frustration when we ceased at our hotel—after an arduous 20-minute uphill trek with four heavy suitcases—to collect another passenger. This inconsistency in service was quite inconvenient.

Embarking on a two-day exploration courtesy of Tratoli, I was captivated by the splendor of Georgian landmarks including the Gergeti Trinity Church, Ananuri Fortress, and the spiritual serenity of Jvari Monastery, complemented by an adventure in the ski haven of Gudauri and a cultural dive into the historic Mtskheta. A scenic hike in the striking Juta/Chaukhi pass further heightened the experience. My exceptional guide, Mari, provided delightful company throughout the journey, her rich narratives bringing each destination to life. Her prowess behind the wheel was equally impressive, ensuring a journey as safe as it was enjoyable. While our accommodation in Juta had the rustic charm one might anticipate in the mountains, its prime location made for an ideal starting point for our trek. Adapting the hike to my preferences regarding pace and duration, Mari showcased the epitome of flexibility. The mountains offered vistas that I can only describe as breathtaking, leaving me longing for additional days to explore and perhaps visit the local wineries. To all mountain enthusiasts, I wholeheartedly urge you to discover the majesty of the Kazbegi region.
