Why it works

The Frame's trick is orientation: from 150 metres up, one glass wall faces the creek-side Dubai of dhows and low souk rooftops, the other faces the Downtown skyline. No other viewpoint makes the city's fifty-year jump as legible. The glass-floor walkway connecting the two towers supplies the obligatory nervous-laughter moment.

At roughly AED 50 it's one of the best-value tickets in Dubai, and Zabeel Park at its base absorbs restless children afterwards.

When to go

Late afternoon is ideal: the heritage side reads best in daylight, and by the time you've crossed to the skyline side the towers are lighting up. Pair it with dinner in nearby Karama — some of the best-value Indian and Filipino food in the city sits ten minutes away.
