Ushuaia: Trekking to Ojo del Albino Glacier
Overview
This excursion includes the trekking Laguna Esmeralda, adding the ascent along the main tributary of the lagoon, which has its source in the Ojo del Albino Glacier. The glacier will surprise you with a spectacle of ice and mountains. You will arrive at the viewpoint of the valley where you can enjoy lunch with wonderful views from 900 meters above sea level. The journey will continue, with stops at panoramic points of impressive beauty. Finally you will return to the Nunatak refuge and from there to the hotel. * IMPORTANT: You will be provided with a trekking pole. * DIFFICULTY: Physically demanding activity. This tour is recommended for people from 16 to 60 years of age. Since there are 20 kms Trekking – 800 meters of unevenness. * INCLUDES: Box Lunch (ham, cheese, tomato, lettuce and egg sandwich. Cereal bar, alfajor or fruit. 500cc. water)

My experience with the tour operator started smoothly as they acknowledged my booking immediately after purchasing through Tratoli. However, things took an unexpected turn when I received a message from them, claiming to have "canceled" the tour just two days prior to the event. I use "canceled" hesitantly because it appears they failed to actually remove the booking from the Viator system and they proceeded to charge me for the tour that never happened. Additionally, my attempts to reach out were met with silence; they neither answered phone calls nor responded to further messages. Despite the hiccup, we ventured on an alternate hiking trail independently, hiring a taxi for transportation to and from the trailhead, foregoing the need for a guide. Now, I am engaged in the frustrating process of attempting to recover my payment.
