We opted for the Beagle Channel boat excursion with a departure initially advertised for 15:00 through Tratoli. However, we learned upon arrival that the actual sailing time was misrepresented; the boat departs at 15:30, not at the initially slated time. Unfortunately, the digital ticket provided lacked essential details such as the exact meeting point. Consequently, I found myself reaching out to Ripio Turismo for clarification. Securing an internet connection to communicate was a challenge, requiring us to locate a café with Wi-Fi. The only direction provided was a vague mention of the "Touristic Pier" and instructions to visit the "Rumbo Sur Office" by 14:30. The Ushuaia pier area, bustling with booths and passersby, proved to be quite an overwhelming environment for a non-Spanish speaker like myself. Thankfully, the kindness of two locals who assisted us eventually led to the discovery that all boats in fact set sail at 15:30. Reflecting on this experience, my advice to future travelers would be to consider booking directly at any of the pier's booths, discovering options along Ushuaia's main street, or even inquiring at your hotel. In contrast to the booking mishaps, the boat ride itself was quite enjoyable.
