Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour from Munich by Train

Our recent experience with a guided tour of Dachau, booked through Tratoli, was a mix of highs and lows. While the historical site itself was incredibly impactful and deserving of a five-star rating, our experience was overshadowed by the conduct of our guide, which regrettably brings our overall tour rating down to two stars. His demeanor was inappropriate and, at times, outright disrespectful; his reluctance to project his voice, despite multiple requests, resulted in an uncomfortable atmosphere, as he suggested guests stand closer for personal reasons rather than ensuring everyone could hear him clearly. Additionally, his unsolicited sharing of personal political preferences on the US elections was out of place during a historical tour, detracting further from the experience. In light of these issues, many of us decided to forgo the guided experience in favor of the highly informative audio guides provided by the museum. They proved to be much more enlightening and respectful to the gravitas of the site. It's worth noting that we weren't alone in this decision; several other group members also chose to distance themselves from the guide's unprofessional conduct. In conclusion, while the Dachau site is a must-visit, our encounter with an unsuitable guide through the Tratoli travel package was a disappointing aspect of an otherwise poignant visit.

I had an enlightening experience with the travel package I booked from Tratoli, finding the tour itself to be thorough and educational. However, the oversight by the tour guide, in not ensuring all passengers were aboard before departure, was quite disappointing, leading to an inconvenient situation where I was compelled to arrange an Uber for my return to Munich. It would be beneficial for tour guides to perform a headcount of travelers to prevent such events.
