Our food tour experience in Addis Ababa was exceptional, thanks to our fantastic guide, Adisu. His warm and amiable personality made the tour all the more enjoyable. The array of vegan delights was incredibly generous; from indulging in an assortment of street fare to the cozy ambiance of cafes and revered restaurants, we were presented with an abundance of Ethiopian culinary treasures. Adisu not only provided a feast for our palates but also enriched our minds, sharing profound insights into each dish's cultural significance and offering a glimpse into daily life in the city. This tour is a must for vegans venturing to Addis – it's tailored for those with a keen interest in the vegan lifestyle and Ethiopian cuisine. Do remember to secure your spot in advance to align with your preferred date, as the tours fill up quickly. Although we were a party of two initially, the team – facilitated by Tratoli, with whom we booked the package – accommodated a last-minute inclusion of two more friends with grace and efficiency. Don't miss the chance to have such an intimate and personalized gastronomic journey – it's truly a high point for food enthusiasts!

My experience with a walking tour booked through Tratoli was exceptional and entirely effortless. Arranging the tour was a breeze; a simple call placed on the morning of the same day resulted in a guide being scheduled to collect me from my hotel at 9:30 a.m. Our adventure began in the University area, and from there we embarked on a captivating journey down a bustling boulevard. Along the way, we visited the impressive University Campus, The National Museum, and a striking Orthodox Church, where the presence of devoted worshipers was notably profound. The tour allowed for a delightful pause to savor a delicious fruit smoothie, and even when a slight rain began to fall, our guide swiftly summoned our transport, ensuring our comfort as we proceeded to Trinity Church. There, I was treated to an exclusive tour of the sacred space, which was simply breathtaking. At the conclusion of the church visit, we sought shelter from the rain at the tour company's office before continuing on to a vibrant local market. Although I declined the traditional coffee ceremony—having observed it throughout the city—the offering was a nice touch. Our guide was exceptionally well-versed in the extensive religious, historical, and cultural tapestry of this country, taking care of all necessary museum and church admissions effortlessly. Without a doubt, there's no better way to explore the intricacies of Addis Ababa than with DailyAddis tours. I wholeheartedly recommend their services for their depth of knowledge and flawless logistical coordination.

Our tour of Addis, booked through Tratoli, was greatly enhanced by Yonas, our guide. His expertise, coupled with his proficiency in English and amiable personality, elevated our experience. Yonas demonstrated flexibility by catering the itinerary to our interests and generously assisted us with currency exchange and locating specific shops. It's advisable to establish pricing and inclusions upfront to ensure a smooth and enjoyable tour. Although Yonas expertly drove us to several museums, we found ourselves wishing he could accompany us inside, as his communication skills surpassed those of the museum guides. We appreciated his service so much that we spent two consecutive days exploring with him. Our gratitude extends to Yonas for making our visit memorable. Wishing him all the best!

During my extended stopover in Addis Ababa, I had the pleasure of spending three delightful hours with a guide named Yonas, thanks to the convenient travel package I arranged via Tratoli. Yonas introduced me to a fantastic local dining experience featuring a vegetarian injera feast coupled with exquisite coffee at the renowned Tomoca cafe. Our tour involved navigating through the city's vibrant streets and exploring notable landmarks. If you're planning a visit, remember that the Mercato is closed on the weekends; however, we compensated for this by visiting a market celebrated for its traditional habeshas. I found that attempting currency exchange from Kenyan Schillings to Ethiopian Birr over the weekend can be quite challenging. Yonas' adaptability with the schedule made for a serene and enjoyable morning immersed in the culture of Addis.

His expertise shone through as he led us on an enchanting stroll through the historic Piassa Old Town, which set a magnificent tone for our vacation. The Ethiopian National cuisine we savored was truly unparalleled – I've never enjoyed such exquisite flavors that tantalized my taste buds. The traditional coffee ceremony was a highlight, offering a glimpse into the authentic local customs and leaving a lasting impression. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour, offered by Tratoli, for anyone looking to delve into Ethiopia's unique and flavorful food scene, and I eagerly anticipate exploring more exceptional dining spots on future trips. During a spontaneous weekend extension in Addis Ababa following my business obligations in Bahirdar, I had the fortunate impulse to arrange a sightseeing experience with Tratoli's Daily Addis Tours. My choice resulted in a remarkable adventure, beginning a mere 30 minutes post-reservation when the affable duo, Adisu and Zemnu – my guide and driver, respectively – arrived. Together, we embarked on a six-hour exploration that included the National Museum, an immersive experience at Menelik's church and its historic tombs, capped by the stunning vistas of Mount Entoto. The next day, further curated by Tratoli, was filled with the delights of Hora Lake, a serene boat expedition, and a lunch rich in traditional Ethiopian flavors in Bishoftu. The day sparkled with sensory pleasures, such as the vibrant hues and aromatic spices like Berberi and Mitmita encountered at Shola Market. My time with Adisu and Zemnu transcended the typical tourist excursion, feeling akin to a journey with friends – a hearty compliment to their exceptional companionship and service. A weekend with Tratoli's Daily Addis Tours transformed into an unforgettable cultural tapestry, making for a superbly authentic travel tale.

Experience the Wonders of The Merkato through Tratoli - A Labyrinth of Commerce and Culture At the heart of the bustling city lies The Merkato, renowned as Africa's most expansive open-air marketplace. Encompassing countless city blocks, this trading hub is cleverly organized, with each street dedicating itself to a special product genre. From the devoted Tyre street and the welcoming alleys of Mattress street to the specialized zones for clothing, shoes, bedding, food, containers, spices, and metalware, the market presents an eclectic mix that seems never-ending. Navigating the Merkato is surprisingly straightforward, lending itself nicely to spontaneous exploration. Without a fixed goal, one can meander through its intricate alleyways, discovering hidden treasures, eventually finding an exit without ever truly feeling lost. It's a place where onlookers can revel in the market's vibrant energy and dynamic atmosphere without any pressure. However, for those on a mission to purchase specific items, my advice is to enlist the expertise of a local guide, who are easily found and incredibly helpful, often for a modest sum of Birr. Their knowledge of the labyrinthine marketplace is invaluable amidst the whirlwind of activity that defines The Merkato. During my visit, which was conveniently arranged through Tratoli, a local guide became our navigator amongst the chaos. Without his insight, we would have missed out on hidden gems, including exclusive third-floor stalls tucked away in nondescript buildings. Our adventure led us to purchase divine honey, aromatic spices, and exquisite jewelry from places we might never have stumbled upon alone. The Merkato is a feast for the senses, as it immerses you in its extraordinary diversity. Whether you're exploring or purchasing, be sure to pause for a moment of refreshment to savor one of Ethiopia's delectable fruit juices, forming the perfect punctuation to this unique shopping adventure.

Yonas was a wonderful local guide for yummy Ethiopian Local food tour. The quantity of food provided is more than sufficient… I had even skipped dinner, as was suggested, and I was still full by the end of this tour. he exposed us to a traditional breakfast, lunch and dinner Plus dessert and a juice beverage. We had a small group of five, two of whom had dietary restrictions (one vegetarian and one allergic to beef) and we were well catered for. Yonas provided us thorough information about modern history and contemporary issues. We also had an opportunity to walk through a large open market{Mercato with him (food, meat, clothing, etc.) and Yonas bought various fruits for us to try that we were curious about. Yonas was happy to be our interpreter if we decide to buy something. (The Ethiopian people were very friendly to us as we walked through the market and dined and the restaurants.) My one suggestion would be to wear close toed shoes as you’re walking Do support this Tour company!

Adisu adeptly discerned my interests and tailored the itinerary accordingly, checking in with me to gauge my reactions after each destination.
